2007-2008: BOSNIA In partnership with the International Trust Fund for Humanitarian Demining, with funding from the U.S. Department of State, Slovenian Ambassador to the United States Samuel Zbogar, and former U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia Thomas Robertson, this program provided physical and physiological rehabilitation for six young Bosnian landmine survivors at the world-renowned Slovenian Rehabilitation Institute in Ljubljana.

The children spent two weeks at the clinic where they received treatment, fittings for new prosthetics, and other rehabilitative procedures.

Four of the young students were able to visit Washington, D.C. in October 2007 as part of a Mine Action DELegation (MADEL). They spoke with local schools about landmine contamination in Bosnia and shared some of their personal stories.
