Updated: Jul 30, 2020

The Marshall Legacy Institute is proud to be a partner in the Mine Free Sarajevo 2020 project, which aims to clear the city of Sarajevo and surrounding municipalities of landmines by September 2020, in time to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the end of the Bosnian War. Mine Free Sarajevo was launched on April 4, 2019, the International Day of Landmine Awareness. The launch was celebrated by the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, the U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia, Eric Nelson, project participants, and other distinguished guests. The project’s partners are ITF Enhancing Human Security and the Mine Detection Dog Center (MDDC) in Sarajevo. The U.S. Government is the sole donor of the project.
